@Fuj With 50,000+ apps there is no winning strategy anymore. It is no longer the wild west, it is just another place to sell software. The difference is that people can be enticed to make a purchase anytime, anywhere.

Good luck on your app, I hope you guys do well.

As far as further advice, I am not a "marketing guru" by a long shot. In fact, for my next in house app, I have a marketing partner to handle those details. The truth is that I ma just a developer. I can try to spread my self out and just be "ok" at everything or I can focus on what I am good at and have other experts help me with the rest.

You may well be in the same position. It sounds like you have a team from your pronoun usage. If you are all developers, I suggest finding someone who can handle marketing for you. Make them a part of your team.

Marketing is hard work. Cold calling, emails, campaigning… It IS a full time job. To be done right, someone needs to be committed to it full time.

Also, I'd love to take a look at your app. I'll send you an email with my email address.

Hi Corey, thanks for answering my questions. Even though you showed with your other post that you make most of the revenue in the first few weeks and are probably OK with going with a larger price, we decided to go with $0.99 instead of a larger price to try to get high on the rankings. We thought that we'd make back what we lost by being ranked high and getting lots of views. Who knows though

Anyways, we've submitted it and while we're waiting for it to go on sale, I was wondering if you had any further tips on how to publicize it or how to get it reviewed? I know you mentioned to send it to blogs and stuff, but do you know any that are very receptive to this? also, i would like to hear your opinion or suggestions so i can send you a code if you'd like.

thanks for the help!

If your looking for a simple way to get a iPhone application for your blog or business I found Rhino Apps really useful. http://www.RhinoApps.com. They take your RSS feed and create an iPhone application around it. You design it with your own custom colors and logos. Worth taking a look at.
